CIR Seeks Investigative Journalist for Cold Cases

Via the AAJA-SF Facebook page:

The Center for Investigative Reporting, home of the weekly broadcast/podcast Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting, is searching for experienced investigative journalists to report on civil rights-era and modern-day cold cases – and, as part of that process, to become characters in a major cable network’s 8-part documentary series.

These journalists would team up and dig into cold cases in which criminal justice agencies including the FBI have failed to bring murderers to trial. This will likely require a part-time, year-long commitment. Although the timing for this project is not firm, production would likely begin in summer 2018.

For these investigations and this series to succeed, we intend to include journalists whose varied life experiences and racial backgrounds inform their work. Many of these cases happened in the Deep South. While the journalists we choose would not need to be based there, it’s essential that they maintain an understanding of and commitment to covering that region.

If you’re interested in being considered for this project, please contact producer Rachel de Leon at rdeleon@revealnews.org for more details.
