Come hear from AAJA’s first elected president and one of its most dedicated and successful journalists, Lloyd LaCuesta, at an AAJA luncheon sponsored by General Motors at the MainStreet in Motion event, 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21 at Alameda Point, 2301 Monarch St.

You’ll have a chance to win one of two free convention registrations for this year’s National AAJA Convention in Detroit! GM is offering a Corvette GS (which seats two) and a Cadillac CTS-V Coupe (which seats up to four) for members to drive from San Francisco to Alameda.

We’re passing along two great opportunities for students from our fellow chapters:

  • The AAJA Washington D.C. Chapter is offering three $1,000 scholarships to help defray the cost of internships for students who are coming to D.C. for the summer. It’s open to AAJA members from any chapter. An application form and other details are available at: http://chapters.aaja.org/Washington/ The deadline for applications is April 29.
  • From AAJA Sacramento: The Sacramento Bee is looking for Stanford students to work this summer with funding through the university’s Rebele internship program. Rebele offers a $5,000 stipend. The website with more
