UNITY Collective Set to Dissolve, But Not Its Mission

Some tough news for journalists of color everywhere: UNITY, Journalists for Diversity has elected to dissolve by March 30.

UNITY was established as a collective between several journalist organizations of color with the goal of increasing diversity in newsrooms across the country and providing resources for journalists of color.

UNITY has struggled financially since the departures of NABJ in 2011 and NAHJ in 2013.

The vote to dissolve UNITY was unanimous.
